  • Position: Long-Haul Travel Consultant
  • Reporting to: Retail Team Leader
  • Role Status: Permanent, Monday – Friday only

About the Job
You will be part of a team of experienced long-haul travel consultants. You will play a vital role in ensuring we continue to exceed our service level agreements and fulfil our customer requirements by providing the highest level of customer service and best value for money.

Skills & Experience
Customer service is paramount and the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate this to the highest level.

The following skills are preferable:

  • Previous experience working in a retail travel environment
  • Operation of a GDS (Galileo)

Job Description
You will be part of a team with a focus on operational finance, responding to both internal and external queries across the UK and Ireland, in addition to core functions. You will play a vital role in ensuring we continue to exceed our service level agreements and fulfil our customer requirements by providing the highest level of customer service and best value for money.

Key Tasks of the job:

  • ✓ Core function will be Accounts Payable
  • ✓ Support Accounts Receivable and Debtors control
  • ✓ Daily, weekly & monthly BSP Reconciliations
  • ✓ Daily Bank Reconciliations and overall Control of multiple accounts
  • ✓ Daily Credit Card Reconciliations
  • ✓ All general Banking duties, including payments and queries
  • ✓ Maintaining complete records and back-ups to all Invoices & Receipts relating to all financial transactions and VAT
  • ✓ Liaise with staff and deal with any queries including ad-hoc support of internal back office system.
  • ✓ General Day to Day financial requirements of the World Travel Centre
  • ✓ Reviewing your financial processes internally to identify deficiencies and weaknesses and provide recommendations to Finance Manager.

Month End focussed tasks

  • ✓ Assist with Preparation of Monthly Management Accounts to Trial Balance Level
  • ✓ Preparation of Final Month End Bank Reconciliations
  • ✓ Finalisation of multiple Intercompany accounts
  • ✓ Preparation of VAT Returns
  • ✓ Petty Cash Control

Ad-hoc duties

  • ✓ Assist Group Finance Manager with a variety of ad-hoc management reporting requirements
  • ✓ Assist with External Audit queries during the annual external audit
  • ✓ To provide support and testing for future internal systems development
  • ✓ Other Ad-hoc Duties

Knowledge & Experience preferences

  • ✓ At least 2 years’ experience in a Finance Department (preferably within the travel Industry)
  • ✓ Ability to meet strict deadlines
  • ✓ A high level of proficiency in Excel is essential
  • ✓ Good IT Skill and knowledge of software systems
  • ✓ Operational Experience required
  • ✓ Proven ability to think analytically
  • ✓ Ideally, currently undertaking Financial exams
  • ✓ Previous GL and Bank reconciliation experience desirable
  • ✓ Previous experience of accounting software Packages essential
  • ✓ Knowledge of SAP Business One would be a key advantage
  • ✓ Willing to provide illness and holiday cover to the Department

As a result of this growth, we are now recruiting for an online technical helpdesk assistant. We are looking for someone to proactively support and work alongside our marketing department and operations team.

Job Purpose
To support and generate ideas for continuous improvement to our online offerings both internally and externally in line with the business strategy.

Skills & Experience:
Excellent communication skills are essential and will enable you to complete your role within the online team. Having excellent organisational skills due to working to deadlines and the ability to work on your own will help you succeed in this role. To be successful in this role you will be expected to demonstrate a desire for learning about online tools, IT software to internal and external clients.

Requirements:

Selective Travel Management is looking to recruit an experienced Business Travel Consultant to join our out of hour’s team working from home.

Job Description
You will be part of a team of home based travel consultants responding to queries from corporate clients & travel agents across the UK & Ireland. You will play a vital role in ensuring we continue to exceed our service level agreements and fulfil our customer requirements by providing the highest level of customer service and best value for money.

Hours of Work
You will be required to work 5 out of 7 days per week in various shift patterns to meet our client and business needs. The shift pattern will start at 1700 Monday – Friday to midnight and may include some overnight shift once full induction programme and training has been completed. Weekends will be from 0930 to midnight and again may include some overnight shift once full induction programme and training has been completed.

Skills & Experience
Customer service is paramount and the successful candidate will be expected to demonstrate this to the highest level. Operation of GDS (Galileo), excellent time management and organisational skills are preferable but not essential.

The following skills are desirable; working in a corporate travel environment, knowledge of building, booking and changing multi sector and multi product itineraries as well as IATA ticketing. You should have a minimum of 1 years’ experience in the travel sector.
